Default Self Learning Systems

I am going to be starting from scratch to build a sleeved LS based 427. I will use a 4 barrel intake with 8 injectors and a 4150 TB. I was considering a FAST or Holley pcm because I understand they have the ability to self learn/tune based on some basic setup parameters. Is this a good way to go or will I end up looking for a local tuner for this?

It really depends how sensor/computer/motor savvy you are, but with a little time you should be able to figure out a Holley system on your own. If you get the basic parameters set up correctly, all you gotta be able to do is pedal it to get it started (and warmed up) and the learn function will kick in.

It doesn't sound like you're going with anything worth buying a standalone over though, so why not stick with the factory PCM and have it tuned? It's much much cheaper.

Thanks for the link. Is Holley a speed density system? I think I will need that since I am not sure how a MAF would be adapted to a 4bbl TB and a 14 inch air cleaner.
