Scan XL Pro?
Noob here on the tuning front getting ready to make the plunge into HP Tuners for my 2004 Cadillac CTS-V.
Quick question, would this SCANXL Professional software with the GM Enhanced Add-on be beneficial at all to purchase along with HP Tuners?
I guess the real question is would it provide more information that could be helpful outside of what HP tuners Scanner Utility Offers?
http://www.scantool.net/software/
Here is a list of the advanced parameter list it offers: http://www.palmerperformance.com/sup...m_enhanced.php
Ideally I would take the plunge for a Tech II scanner, but I'm wondering if maybe this would be a good helpful step.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

The only leg up it has on HPT is it will do LT1s and connect
serial wideband. ScanXl does fine on eng. trans. but no bi-directional
control I have yet to hook it to a car and read any brake or body data.
It just reads codes C, B, U, but HPT does also.

i used it on my 01 camaro to monitor the abs system which hptuners cannot do. for the money it was worth it for me. a little persnickity but it worked and MUCH cheaper than even a used tech2. e.g. i was able to watch the speed on all 4 abs sensors at the same time. as sreve mentioned it does not do the bi-directional stuff. you may also want to check on autoenginuity. i was given feedback by a user that it also worked on the fbody abs as well as supporting bi-directional. however, i cannot confirm that.
also, forum feedback/activity is limited but tech support did respond fairly quickly to any questions i had.
