Just a guess it could be low fuel pressure, plugged cats

It was a trick question.

Answer:

That is what happens when your dad is a tuner and you get a 70mph in a 45mph ticket!

Now it shuts off at 45 and comes back on at 40 and the rpm shuts down at 3000 and comes back on at 2500!

No more tickets for the next 6 months!

Tuff love.

Hope he doesn't need to get out of someones way in a hurry and can't. Teaching him responsibility or taking the car away completely seems a better way than letting him drive a car that could be potentially dangerous to him or a passenger he might have in the car.

maybe with a top speed of 65mph, but even under 3000 rpm the car will have more grunt then most on the road.

There are only two city streets here that are 55mph, plus the interstate at 75, but he has no buisness on the interstate.

Other wise he has no buisness pulling out infront of people.

He really hates it. He likes to drive around with the rpm above 3000 all the time. This will teach him how to drive a standard normally too.

The rule was when he got the car, I will lock the max speed to what ever speed limit he breaks on the ticket. So here he is.

I named the tune Punishment!

HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!

That's how you let the teen take your ride to prom. I think it may have been better to do torque management adjustments instead of rpm limiter though. I dont know this for sure but it seems like that would lean out the motor if he hits it a lot. I am no expert just a thought.

I did also lower the torque managment from 350 to 250 but I really could not feel a difference.

So if he gives him a Prius or a smart car, which has about the same capabilities, would that be dangerous?

The talk came before he got the car and again after he had the car. It did not work or else he would not have the ticket. 70 in a 45 is not symply not paying attention to his speed. He was drag racing in town on a public street.

Taking the car away for a month will also punish me, why should I have to drive him everywhere for all the different things he has to do when he has a car and he is of the age to learn to take care of his own transportation needs.

No this way he is being punished, and he can take care of his stuff himself. This way keeps him from drag racing in town on public roads where he can kill himself and others. It is a very bad issue here in Odessa.

No, this is in no way a joke. He is still driving the car like this and he will continue to drive it with this tune for at least 6 months. The next step will be selling of the car and buying him some extra shoes for all the walking he will be doing as well as a louder alarm clock so he can get up even earleir so he can start walking sooner.

Tuff love.
