Default does anyone prefer AFR reading from the y pipe?

i was told to get a bung in my y pipe so we could read afr there instead of at the collectors.

just wondering if anyone sees any reason for it.

everyone i know goes @ the collector. and just for my clarity, we should go from both collectors too right?

Mine's in the I-pipe, where I had an additional bung
welded in for it.

It's uncommon to find a wideband that reads two
sensors. There may be one, I dunno. Not the norm.

I was offered a two sensor wideband back when I ordered one. Didn't pay much attention to it and the price was higher. It would seem like the ideal way to tune something in case you had a problem with one bank, you'd never know unless you had a sensor in that bank.

thanks for the replies. i could not find a thread on this. but i didnt search in depth either. the way i figure it though, your either reading off one sides cylinders or the others. it would be nice to read both and get an average. or what i thought was just go at the merge at the y pipe and do it there by putting a bung in. im glad you saw what i was talking about.

fast makes a dual channel wideband...and for simple street cars the ypipe is fine
