Default dyno tune vs mail order

I am installing lt's and y pipe in the coming weeks and was wondering how much of a diffrence I would see in say a Frost tune...Or my Local dyno tune? I know the dyno tune could squeek out some more power but is it worth it seeing as how I will need a retune in a yr when I do a cam swap? Any help would be appreciated!

I would personally just do a mail order tune for now and then once you do the cam you can do the dyno tune. Unless you can find a shop that will be able to work with you on the price for future tunes.

I just changed my cam in my 5.3 in a 1992 chevy pickup 2wd and i had a Frost tune before the cam install.Truck has 1 3/4 LT headers,no cats, cai and a 160 stat.My plugs looked perfect.I just sent it back to him to tune for my cam.I will eventually get a dyno tune but everyone around here southern ny nothern nj want a lot of money to tune my truck because it isn't a factory setup.I couldn't even get anyone to install the cam.One place wanted $2500 for cam install and tune.I installed it myself. Now if i can just learn how to tune.

Just get a Dyno whenever you get everything ready stay with a mail tune or just ask one local shop for a re-tune discount
