Default autometer speedo not working..help please

ok so i did an ls engine swap in my old truck and am using autometer speedometer(1488).i hooked the speedo wire coming from the harness to it and nothing.harness is a standalone.im using a t56 trans also.is there a wire i can tap into and run to the gauge that anyone knows? any help thanks

the Autometer Speedo is looking for a 16,000 pulse per mile signal... or you have to do a rolling calibration which can be tough to say the least

why they didnt make it the standard 4,000 pulse per mile signal that the automotive industry has used forever is beyond me...

so can u go in and just reset it to 4000 pulses then?

no.. not directly...
its actually a pain in the *** to set the speedo to anything different....
its much easier to figure out how to get your signal to be 16,000 pulses per mile
which if you are using a PCM, cam be easily set by anybody who does tuning and pcm edits.


when the Speedo First powers up there will be a value in the window.... that value tells you how many pulses per mile it is set up for....
if you've never touched it, it should read 16,000

oh ok ya these gauges have been used before in an old roadster.i will have to talk to my turner then i take it
