24x Reluctor Wheel 58x PCM Programming Fix?
I'm looking to install a nicely built LS2 into my 07 Z06. The issue is the LS2 has a 24x reluctor wheel and my PCM is obviously looking for a 58x wheel signal. I was planning on using the LINGENFELTER converter box but it now sounds like they are on hold pending more testing!
Sooooo, I don't really want to pull the crank to get a 58x wheel pressed in so I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck at getting the the PCM programming to make the change there? I'm assuming this may not be possible or Lingenfelter wouldn't have made the module.
I'm still curious to see if anyone has found a way to get into that programming area or has found another way around this issue.
Thanks,
-John

Not capable of changing reluctor wheel specs in these ECMs.
You could however pin your crankshaft and install a 58x reluctor on the front of the balancer with a crank sensor if you arent wanting to pull the crank. I personally like using the correct reluctor vs using a conversion box... just works better.

That's what I figured however this swap isn't a simple change with the major differences in the reluctor wheels. Either way it wouldn't benefit me anyhow because thats one of the drawbacks to HPTuners software is the inability to access the raw code of the bin files.

Any updates on this? I would like to know if this is a future capability of EFI or if it is just a Jessie Special. I am interested in any details you want to provide.

It is something only I do, It is a mix of a bit of little things to make it all work. It is what I was running on my 1000hp Ctsv as well, so I know it works on any e67 and e38 ecm.
I don't charge anyone to set up the tune, it just isn't something im going to put in the software for everyone.. Well at least not yet.

Jesse, after you make this change, is it still possible to apply a custom OS for things like lower temp cooling fan control and switchable N20 settings? Obviously you don't wind up with any sort of tuner lock on the file that would prevent the car owner from tuning the car himself in the future right? Does it affect things that are timer related to crank pulses or will that type of thing still work normally? I think for the most part on the Gen 4 computers, those type of things reference either crank degrees or a single "reference pulse" which I assume to be cylinder #1 TDC.
