My HP Tuners arrived today, so I will run it through the paces this weekend. I have prior experience with Edit, so it should be interesting. One thing I can say without even opening the box - Carputing's customer service sucks! Dealing with HP Tuners was effortless.

basically the same product.
you are not vin locked
you get an okay (development) scan tool, not nearly as good as efilive (yet) but good enough.
It flashes very fast.
hptuners doesnt encrypt the binaries, ls1edit does, ls1edit reads hptuners binaries but doesn't write them.
basically a better product overall imo, once bidi controls and a little better scanner is worked out it will annihilate ls1edit given the model/year lock only.
you will probably have more friends if you buy hptuners

I had the entire weekend to play, and the jury is in Overall, I am very pleased with HP Tuners. Comparing the two products side-by-side, there are a few additional tables in HP Tuners that I cannot find in Edit. However, there are more torque management features in Edit - such as "TCS Retard vs. RPM". Based on feedback on the HP Tuners discussion forum, these will be available soon. There is absolutely no comparison in read/flash time. HP Tuners did a complete read in less than 2 minutes, and flash time is about 20 seconds. The scanner is a nice feature - it's very nice to not switch cables. I don't feel the scanner is on par with Autotap - yet. The basics are all there - certainly enough to allow sufficient info for tuning. I would like to see a time stamp, though (coming soon according to their discussion forum). Overall - a great product!
