ecm swapping? question for you guys my friend and i both have 98 cars mine is a 98 trans am a4 his is or was a 98 ss we had the same mods but he had his tuned by frost before he wrecked it. mine is still untuned. is it possible to swap out the ecu so i can have the tune in my car. like i said we have the same mods. longtubes. 3.73 gears underdrive pulley etc.
If both cars are automatic yes.
Vats will be a problem, if you are asking this I assume you don't have tuning software. If that's correct then vats will be a problem. I don't know if you can do a vats relearn using the 30 min procedure with a 98

You will have to change the vin in the pcm, and the vats will have to be relearned or deleted.
Without the right Vin, your radio may not work and your air bag system until you do put it in..
