Anyway to tell what year PCM you have
OK, last year my car was down during tuning and a replacement PCM was put in from an auto ( I have an M6 ). So my PCM was reflashed and sent back to me.
Saturday I had it retuned using HPTuners by a tuner in Columbus Ohio.
Having a couple of SES light issues, so he asked:
"After doing some thinking, is there any chance you have a 98 computer? Is there a way for you to find out? The reason I ask, is because you have a Secondary VE Table and only 98 cars have that, and yours is a 99 load."
What he means is in the HPTuner program, it came up with a secondary VE table.
So anyone know how to tell? FWIW, the PCM I got back ( I was in Cleveland while the guy in New Jersey flashed it and sent it back ) has my VIN number in it.

if your car is a 99+, you won't be able to make a 98 computer work on it without rewiring.
so if your car runs, its not a 98 computer. The pinouts are different, and the car won't run with a 98 hardware in a 99+ car.
