Default 2 bar map question

Ok i tried searching this but didnt get too much. I ve a 2 bar map on my sd tuned turbo 5.3l. I got a little over zealous on the boost controller and hit 17psi. previously i had never gone over 15 psi and didnt think i could given the fact that i have a 7 lb spring. Car ran great so i m curious how if i was outside the map range why the car still ran good. Also is it real dangerous to creep a little outside the range when i hit the track? Thanks guys

You can push as much boost as you want but the two bar MAP limits how you can tune over that KPA. There are ways to scale and tune around it. I ran 18lbs on a two bar for awhile but have now stepped up to a 2.5 bar.

Cool. I might start pushing the limits this year at the track lol. Now I just gotta ditch these 4.10 gears so this bitch can run!
