fuel mileage S/D or mass air

Our shop truck is 2 bar speed density tuned (supercharged). Quite literally picked up 2mpg with a speed density tune and the supercharger! Not saying one way is better than the other in terms of mileage but rather there should literally be no difference when both are well tuned.

SD or MAF doesn't really matter if they are both still in closed loop operation (using the front o2 sensors for input).
Now once you get into open loop operation (where the front o2 sensors are shut off) then you have the possibility of leaning out light load cells to higher than 14.7 and thus getting better mileage.
But a close loop tune, regardless of it beind SD or MAF will always stay around 14.7 no matter what due to the o2 sensors. Get rid of those and you can go beyond that number and save fuel.
