Question Crankshaft position sensor replacement

My friend has an 2005 GTO, the other day while driving his car just gave up on him when he got to idle. He threw a code and it was p0356 (CKP) we installed a new sensor along with a new camshaft position sensor (only way to get the car running) He drove it home last night and it was fine, this morning he attempted to start the car and it only cranked. He than shifted the car into neutral and the car started. Now the car wont start again... Would anyone have an insight on this?

Thank you

Sounds like there is too much crank end play (crank thrust bearing worn).

No.
The car has another issue. Since it threw a code last time it may have a broken wire
