6L80 T43 Operating System Question

6L80 T43 Operating System Question As some of you know I erred when I mated an L92 out of a 2007 Escalade to an unknown 6L80 transmission. I now have a communication problem. So I ordered HP Tuners so I can scan the transmission to see what operating system is in it and possibly the VIN#. Some say it won't show the VIN#.
This is the question. If the transmission turns out to be from a vehicle that was made in 2009 would it be possible to use a E38 ECM out of a 2010 L99 Camaro? As I understand it the 2010 Camaro still uses the older transmission code. That would be my ideal situation and best way for me to get out of my problem.
Edit: IMHO the transmission is most likely out of a 2008 or 2009 vehicle.

IIRC HPT does not show the trans VIN.

Thank you for the information. I will try and get under the car and look at the transmission for a code. I have a picture of the left hand side and of course it does not show the code. I didn't think HPT would show the VIN#.
