Is my car already tuned? I know this is either a loaded and/or dumb question...
But my car seems to run differently/better than other cars that I know aren't yet tuned.
I only have some hints but it leads me to believe my tune isnt stock.
My car runs door to door with a tuned 02 ram air with long tubes, exhaust, intake.
My hot idle afr's are mid 12:1 onthe wideband. It's a solid 12.9-13.1 at wot in 3rd gear. I saw people speak of the Oem tune running lean at hot idle on the hp tuners forum based on gm's take on o2 content of heated air.
My buddys Untuned catback/intake 99 z28 hot idles at 15:1 and cruises 16:1. It's 14:1 at wot.
I'm just looking for input before spending $150 to unlock my car if I don't need to tinker with the tune yet.
