quick question on a SD tune vs. a MAF tune.
quick question on a SD tune vs. a MAF tune. 99 Trans am. Just a full bolt on car with a 3600 stall. Ported fast 92, PTM 95mm tb and will be installing a FTP 98 mm lid. I know a MAF tune is more precise so I'm leaning towards a gm 85mm maf and tune it that way. I'm pretty sure the stock maf is going to restrict the air flow. Is it worth it to go SD and delete the maf? Or just stick with a maf for now? Any input would br much appreciated.

Stick with the MAF... the 85mm or even an LS3/7 card style will work plenty good enough to make power. On a bolt-on car there is zero power to be had by removing a 85mm MAF to go full SD.
I tested this back to back on my 403 trickflow headed engine and the 85mm MAF only lost ~5rwhp vs fully SD and open pipe.
