What have I got?? And.....
Everyone got a start from somewhere and I am only interested in being able to figure out mine for me and me alone.
Any help would be appreciated and if there are any reference materials for the wiring harness, please let me know.
Thanks a bunch. Oh yeah, the engine and harness and ecu came out of a 2001 Yukon with 5.3L 4X4. I am running a Turbo 400, so I can eliminate the trans stuff. I have no intentions to go with any other trans except either a 350 or glide.
Send me a PM with your email, I can send you the diagrams.
When I did my first one, I used alldatadiy.com for the pcm pinouts. That is really all you need to modify the stock harness, of course you will have to come up with ways to power things like injectors and pcm.
Will have to have vats turned off in the tune.
I don't want to spend $200 for someone else to do what I can do, nor do I want to spend $175-350 for someone else to tune the ecu and turn off all the unnecessary stuff I don't need to have.
I would let someone else do it in a minute if the cost was more reasonable, but people must think cause we have an LS engine we are rich or something...
I would much rather just spend $500 for the HP tuners software one time and be able to tune it as much as I want to, no questions asked....
I have taken the first step and gone ahead and bought an OBD2 port to be able to wire in. I will probably try to figure out how to secure it up behind the dash with the ECU so no one but me knows where it is once I have gotten everything up and running.
For anyone who knows, can the fan control temperatures be adjusted with this ecu?
I read where the ECU has relay ground controls for two fans, but I am wondering if it is for both at the same time or one, then another....

The WB will have nothing to do with the PCM unless it takes the place of a NB.

Plus the ALDL connector.
I now have to break out the scissors and razor blades to start with de-looming this mess and then remove all the unnecessary wiring. According to my count, 35 wires between the two plugs..
