Default losing my tune

car is a 98 T/A. pretty much a bolt on LS6. makes what it should... best pull and back to back pulls all within 1whp and 1wtq from last pull. a/f is good... as soon as we unstrap the car and drive it down the street then return to shop and shut off, it pretty much loses the tune and goes back to stock.
car is being tuned with hp tuners.
why is my car dropping the tune????
thanks in advance

You need to do some logging and confirm the tune is set up properly.
The tune simply can't change. Could be non tune related even (ground, connector, etc)

When you flash, you erase the PCM first, thus there is nothing for it to 'go back to'...if you lose the tune, your PCM is blank and the car wont run

The car has fuel supply issues (pump, filter, injectors) and you are tuning around it as the problem worsens

Please explain what you mean by going lean? Is it while driving around normal or while WOT? Are you sure you reenabled your STFT or LTFT?

Not sure how lean or under what circumstances but if I tune my car to be 12.6 in 3rd gear (automatic), 1st and 2nd gear show lean (in the 13s) on the wideband. I was told this is normal.

i'm strapping it to the dyno in an hr... i think what it could be is just the tables for driveability... and we pretty much tuned it for WOT. it ended up with 12.4ish af ratio and solid numbers... 385-387whp and 376-378wtq on back 2 back 2 back pulls

Tuning on the dyno is the easy part. You have to tune the street stuff. It's just learning lean as you drive.

Yup. If you only tuned the WOT then you have lots of work left with the part throttle tuning, that is why it does not drive well and seems to "lose" the tune (that is not actually happening).

Slowhawk and Alvin.... thats exactly what is going on. Car feels like a LT1 from 2500-4000rpms... i think its something in the MAF... still made 386whp but just feels doggish on driveability. I need to find someone with a 02-04 Z06 cam in their car and maybe copy their tune then tune my WOT...

Unfortunately its just not that simple, you're going to have to tune drivability for your car and your mods. If you could just copy and paste tunes from car to car then we would be out of business since there wouldn't be a need for custom tunes. However a Z06 cam isnt hard to tune for driveability so thats in your favor. No ones probably going to just give you a tune to copy but if you post your tune and a log file and are trying to learn I'll help you and I'm sure others will also. You will get alot more help with tuning if people can see your trying to learn vs asking for a tune to copy.

so all it that really needed attention was the MAF fuel trim on there... driveability is OE now and also increased the rev limit being it has the 02-04 Z06 cam and those vettes have a 6600 rev limit on them... so we got 393whp and 387wtq out of 15 year old OEM technology with 152k miles on the bottom end N/A... now wonder why mustangs hate to love us lol...
