first time autotap

first time autotap me and a buddy of mine where out today gettin some info through autotap, ive never actually ran it before but he is very familiar with it because he uses it on his car [2000 GTP]. so he says ok to get a good reading we need to have you do 1 or 2 good runs at WOT. so finaly he gets it all set and im off, i run it all the way to 5th. then let off. after about 5-10 minutes of him fidiling with the program he informs me that i have about 3.6 degress of knock retard at 4500rpm's. which is intresting to me considering i just took my car into the shop to have them check out this claking noise i was observing at around that same RPM. they told me it was a normal operating noise because of "my high-performance engine" and i thought i had traced that noise to a banging fuel line against a heat shield in the engine bay. anyway, am i just **** out of luck? will i ever figure out whats causing it considering the dealership doesent want to take the time?

it was about 75-80 degrees outside on a sunny day. and the intake air temp was around 95 degrees. if that helps any, he is going to send me a copy of the read-out soon, if anyone has any suggestions that could help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

awsome, isnt autotap pretty accurate though? i got a used HPP3 from ebay and that will be here tomorow, and im borrowing autotap from my buddy again, so i guess ill just go score some race gas and have a day.
