Default high idle when clutch depressed

I have a 98 camaro ss and when you push the clutch in the car will rev to about 2000 rpm and stay for about 5 seconds and go back down and if you let it idle for awhile it will stop doing it. It happens every time I drive it. The car was throwing a map sensor code so I replaced it and it helped a little since it used to rev all the way to 3000. The car has a cam ls6 intake and exhuast.

Been tuned to take the cam into consideration?
Post a data log showing what's going on.

Short Version, replace PCV Valve

Hey, I was just having this same issue a few weeks back. Only code she dropped was for "idle higher than expected". Was checking into the TPS and all kinds of other crap. Sprayed out the PCV on a whim and was good for a while, so 3$ to replace has fixed it up. May not be your issue, but that's my story.

Check for vacuum leaks, could be the PCV valves or intake gaskets, try to have a listen around for any hissing. Certainly after the MAF as it will be unmetered air entering the system.

Where is this pcv valve? Im having the same issue as the OP and also got this code on it. I already checked for vaccuum leaks but didn't find anything.
