Default 4L60e shifts quicker when MAF disabled to tune LTFTs

Car is a 2000 C5. When attempting to log LTFTs I disable the MAF, copy high octane timing table to low as per the tuning guide. The car now has a much snappier shift at part throttle. Putting the original tune back softens the shift again. No other changes are made to the tune. What can cause this behaviour?

Thanks

Some operating systems go to full transmission pressure when the MAF is failed.
Since you disabled it to tune VE, it behaves the same as a failed MAF

This means you can make the shifts faster/harder tuning transmission tables

There are transmission diagnostics parameters for enabling/disabling max/fault pressure on the MAF DTC's.
