Any problems past then are blamed on the tuner or the cam or any array of other issues. And most people do not want to tear an entire engine apart or even to a compression/cyl leakdown test to check. While those MIGHT give you a good indication, the best would be an entire machine shop tear down with them taking special note of the pistons, rings and the bore.

But aint nobody got time for that! We gotta go run 10s!

Didn't hurt my engine as I've since pulled the heads and it looks good. I've been low 10s a ton of times for miles and miles part throttle too.
