Default HP Tuners Standard or Pro

Looking to buy one to make minor changes on my car.
Car is tuned in CLSD now. Track only car no street. WOT all the time.
I want to be able to log all my runs and tweak the tune if necessary.
Which Tuner do I need.
Thanks

I would get the pro so you can plug your wideband right in and not have to hook it up through egr or another input wire.

Wideband is already hook up to erg.
What are the differences between the two.
What can you do with the Pro than you can't do with the standard?

I agree with LSX power tuning. That function alone makes it worth the difference. I bought the standard version, and I also have my wideband connected through the EGR, but however, if I EVER want to tune someone elses car, I either have to try to tune of short terms (Which I don't like to do), or I have only installed my wideband through the A/C circuit one time on someone elses car (My wifes). Having to do either one of those is a PITA. I would go pro, and I should have back in the day.

I bought the standard when I started tuning in 2009 because my current car had a WB factory. When I went to the WS6 I used the EGR input but when I went LS3 I decided to upgrade.

Do it right the first time & get pro. Other advantage is standalone logging on some vehicles without a computer but you will have to see if yours is supported.

I went with the standard but I now wish I went with the pro to begin with.

The pro offers black box data logging and the A/D input option. The pro seems to be the most popular at the point.

Here is a link to both!

Definitely go with the pro if you can afford the additional $150 as it will save you in the long run

Can I log my runs with the standard unit.
All I want to do is log my runs and minor tweaking.
Wideband is hook up to my ERG.
Don't want to tune any more cars.
Will a Standard HP do this.
Thanks

Yes you can. But...depending on how many g-Forces you may pull, it COULD cause your hard drive to failsafe (it's designed that way so like if you drop the laptop, for example...but that never works lol). That's only with Hard Disk Drives. If you have a Solid State Drive in your laptop then it won't matter. That's just one more reason why the Pro version is useful, because the MPVI interface doesn't have a Hard Drisk Drive...no moving parts.

The Standard can log yes. The only thing the pro does different in reg cases is have the external setup for the wideband and other sensors and the black box data logging.

Good point.
Don't know how many G-Forces but it does pull the front wheels.

Thanks again.
What's your opinion on the G-Forces, with a laptop?

You can use some smart phones as an accelerometer (with the app) but HPT will not measure that nor will we guess on that. I would not read too much into that....seems hokey to me. I have had my laptop in some pretty fast cars, and the only problem I had was keeping my underwear clean.

That's funny.
I've seen laptops in a bunch of faster cars than mine.

If you plan to do testing/tuning at the track keep in mind some tracks might not allow you to have a laptop in the vehicle, ultimately it could be a safety issue(I know I wouldn't want a 5-10lb brick flying around the cockpit if something went wrong down the strip).
