Shorting a battery hose up a tune?
Hi all, I was installing my a/c back into the car and had to remove my battery to get in there and work on the canister mount (I crushed it with my cherry picked and motor on reinstall).
Anyway the wrench slipped due to sweat while on the negative terminal and hit the positive terminal and arced. Everything seemed to be ok but the engine would only fire up and die about 1-2 secs after that where it would idle up before.
The battery lasted with me doing about 4 bad starts and wouldn't turn over today after sitting for a month. I got it tested and it was bad. I figured when it arced it took it out, but could it have damaged my ecm? Or reset the tune? Or could a bad battery have turned the car over and immediately killed it if it was presenting as an open circuit? I plan to get a new battery to test that.
Any insights?
