Changing custom program with HPP 3

Changing custom program with HPP 3 Hello,
Sometime back I had my spare PCM custom programmed
in line with my mods. However, I asked the programming company
to set the fans a bit too low, so they run quite often now.
This is annoying and so I thought I could digg out
my 2000 HPP3 and change fan settings to higher temps.
I am not sure if I would srew up the rest of the data in the flash memeory though? What does the HPP exactly do? Does it first store the
existing falsh memory data inot its own memeory and then copy this to another memory which it then allows you to modify with their
options?
Anybody who could clarify this?
