security light stays on

security light stays on i recently bought a 99 camaro z28 that didnt come with the key fob, i bought one on ebay, programmed it and it worked fine. about 3 weeks ago i go to turn on my car and it wont start. security light stays on, i wait about 30 min and it turns right on. most of the time it starts with no issue, but my light continues to stay on. i tried to bypass the vats system all together and put a resistor that matches my key in the connection below the steering wheel. started right up, but the light stays on. i left the connector unplugged, still on... it seems to only not want to start when i hit the key fob to unlock both doors. im seriously at a loss, i want to burn the mfer to the ground when stupid crap like this goes wrong.
if anyone could help or had a similar problem have any insight for me... that would be amazing
