Default possible bad PCM?

OK so a while back I bough the EJM327 OBD2 Bluetooth dongle to read data. Mostly sensor stuff. Well I pulled it to pull codes on a friends car the other night, and as I went to jump into my car to start it after putting new oil into it. It wouldn't start. Temp gauge showed 260 and nothing else was working. No milage no volts no fuel, fuel pump wasn't priming at all nothing not even an SES light. Only lights on were "check gauges" and "brake" for obvious e-brake. I have checked all fuses, I even disconnected the batter over night. Only to be greated with the same issue. I plugged in the obd2 dongle to try and get something out of the PCM and everything came on, car started and drove just fine. I come home and as its running I pull the dongle out and everything shuts off. I try to start and all it does is crank. Could my PCM be dying? I'm still running a 98' PCM
