Bad Tune?

Default Bad Tune?

I have a newby question. I had my car tuned a few weeks ago and im having problems with it running very rich. It started with a code for one of the O2's so I changed it which is causing the richness I think. I called the tuner and I am going to take it back. In the short term can I put a factory computer back in until I take it back? and if so where is it located at? thanks

If its an F-body the PCM is located behind the passenger side wheel well attached to the firewall.
The types of mods you have done would determine if you could install a stock PCM. But where would you get one? If you bought a new one most likely you need to get it flashed

Thanks for the info, I think I will go ahead a take it back to the tuner. The mods are Lt's, mild cam, and exaust..

What are the codes? As it's normal to get slow response and insufficient switching codes with LT Headers. Just set those codes to no error reported and uncheck the SES box. When any O2 code sets, the car goes into open loop.

For the P0121, you need to raise the P0121 error max map value in the tune if your idle is more than 65kpa due to the camshaft. The P0155 is for the RF O2 sensor heater circuit. Most likely needs replacing if there isn't an open in the wiring. The P0327 is for the front knock sensor, but the service manual states that the P0121 code is to be fixed first.

Thanks for the info Russ, I was driving it today and come to a stop and it cut off and would not crank. I called one of my buddies with his wrecker to come pick it up. Im thinking its the fuel pump but will find out for sure tomorrow. While it is at his place I am going to have him to replace the valve seals. After that I guess I will be headed back to the tuner...
