Default 0411 computer swap OOPS!

So this usually only happens in the morning when I turn on my car but I have my car run on a different tune sometimes. I recently swapped a 0411 computer in my 98 trans am. If i don't hold the key a split second more to turn it on it will run on a different tune that doesn't enable me to even get into overdrive and it shifts very harsh. I'm puzzled to why sometimes it runs amazing and sometimes it runs like trash.

Wondering if anybody can shine any light on this subject, whenever it be my wiring, maybe my alarm. I don't know I've never heard of anybody running into this issue before.

Are the only differences transmission-related?

Sounds like you may have a wiring problem somewhere. I would check all the PCM connections, then grounds and make sure everything that needs power during crank and start is getting the power it needs.

...and why do you have two topics about the same problem on the same sub forum?

I am thinking if OP has only trans related issues, it could be the TCM or wiring between PCM and TCM or similar? Or is there mo separate TCM on those vehicles?

All the 411 / P01 and P59 (red, blue / blue, green) controllers don't use a separate TCM.
The way I understand, limp mode is typically caused by a power (or ground) issue to the transmission.

Ah that makes sense. Good info. Does "limp" mode give the symptoms described?

Sorry about that I just noticed my brother posted it also, we use the same account.

And recently finally got it to start everytime on demand, but I kind of have to do in a certain order. I drive the car down to the gas station down the street, turn it off, lock and unlock the car twice, put the key in, wait for the security light to go off and bam, runs amazing. By far the weirdest issue I've dealt with so far on any car.
