Default FAST Intake Manifold HELP!!

I just bought a 2002 Z28. Got it at a used car dealership. The car came with full exhaust and a FAST intake manifold and what looks like a matching throttle body. I don't know what size the intake manifold is 90mm, 92mm, or 102mm. The throttle body has no writing on it. Intake Manifold says Wilson FAST no numbers saying the size.

I am having a idle issue. When i am driving and i push in the clutch and throw it into neutral..to roll to a stop sign or red light..my idle won't drop it will stay at around 2000rpms..when i come to a complete stop after like 5 seconds it will drop back down to normal idle. The idle in this car is 1000-1100rpms

Vacuum leak, need to listen or spray some carb cleaner around and find it. Smoke test also works

i don't believe so but i am not sure. i just bought it. It has full exhaust and no check engine light comes on for the missing cats. I think someone got into the computer to change that.

You can also buy O2 simulators that trick the computer into thinking the cats are still there. Only way to know and to be safe is to bring it to a tuner and have it looked at...well I guess you could get under the car and look for the simulators.

IMO I wouldn't trust that the PO did anything the "right way". Last 2 cars I bought that had full exhaust or ANY modification I had dyno tuned...good thing I did. Better safe than sorry.

If the shop knows their head from their *** they should be able to check the tune and see what has been changed from a stock tune and most likely do it for free.

I bought an 04 GTO that the PO told be had been "dyno tuned". I brought it to a reputable shop, which he checked the tune and the only thing that was done was the fan settings were set up to come on sooner and cats deleted...that's ALL. This was on a CAI/full exhaust with no cats. Needless to say after a proper dyno tune things were much better. Same went for my current Z28...it had same mods and NO tune. It was running fairly lean before a proper tune.

I answered you in the other thread. That's a 90 the tb is an older NW and he never made a 78. The intake would say 92 on it if it were one so therefor it's a 90

Turn down or turn off the throttle cracker in the tune.

Our you can fix it by epoxying the front of the top and the back of bottom of the tb to the throttle blade to reduce the airflow around the blade. Be sure to put wax on the throttle blade so you can open it after the epoxy has dried to the tb. Sand it up till it just has a tiny bit of epoxy left to seal the blade.

Ps....be sure to clean and where the epoxy is being applied.

honestly doug with the nw he should just be able to close the blade and get it to where he needs it. sounds like the tb is open too far and the iac is probably bottoming out trying to compensate but the blade is just too far open.

if not then he has a vac leak, the tune will need to be changed though, RAF should be addressed as well as TC

Lol I never tried the eBay ones but I did have a fast 92 and it couldn't supply enough air for my setup and it drove me nuts trying to tune it.

Then I got a NW 102 and holy **** with a couple hours of tuning and adjusting the blade I had it damn near perfect lol

My 90 was fine and didn't need tuning on the idle. My 102 was a different story. I didn't like the way it drove. The car felt lazy on tip in with that big lip thing they had machined into it. I cut that **** out and throttle response came back. The idle was at damn near 3000 rpm at times. So that's when I epoxied that bitch up. I didn't touch the idle tune. It came around with just sealing the tb blade up with the epoxy.

ya man i never drove one with the hump but i heard stories about how it was necessary to get a 102 with it inside to avoid low speed driveability problems. in reality the nw 102 which is smooth like you made yours drives better than the 92. The fast iac hole was just really small. so in order for it to supply me with enough air i had to have it maxxed out on startup and ave the blade open. then when it got hot my iac went to 0. the iac on the nw is twice the size and once i got the tb set screw and iac counts good it was all good lol.

im hoping now that this new MSD intake theyre coming out with doesnt completely kick the fast 102's *** and make me want one of them. I dont think it will as theres only so much real estate under the cowl for an intake but well see
