Default No spark with LQ9 swap? At wits end :emo:

Replaced the broken LS6 with an LQ9 (2003, same # of teeth), which was running when it came out of the donor vehicle.

Went to fire it up, and it would sputter for a few seconds, then die

Turn the key, fire it up, stab the throttle, and it would rev (very rough with backfires) till I let off the throttle

Got a code for the Crankshaft position sensor

Replaced the sensor

Now NO spark what-so-ever with new sensor

I have EXHAUSTED my LS1Tech/CorvetteForums searching... Tried replacing the MAF, relearning the VATS, relearning the sensor, resetting the PCM a few times and nothing

Crankshaft sensor has power, good ground

I even ran a wire from the sensor directly to the PCM (Blue, Pin 12, Dark blue/white) so a broken/corroded *should* be out of the question, right?

HELP PLEASE lololol

Anybody have any suggestions or info?

I'm about to take the loss and sell this thing for dirt....

Thanks in advance

Did you check that the PCM is seeing the CKP signal (i.e. check wiring, check that scantool shows RPM's while cranking)...?

I believe if u change the ckp you have to do a "ckp re-learn".

Got a scantool on there, and the crank is sending proper signal to the PCM

Tried searching for this re-learn procedure.

It can only be done with HPTuners?

My tuner lives an hour away is the problem lol

A crank relearn can only be done while the engine is running. If it wont start, Thats not the issue.

A crank relearn can be performed by most scan tools with Bi-directional control. I.e. the OEM scan tool or any thing that emulates the software. There are several aftermarket tools that can do this.

Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail???

Have you checked for Voltage drop??? I.e. dirty grounds or connections to the chassis.

Did you check the ground for the Coil circuit to make sure you have good contact and that its hooked up. It's very common on engine swaps for guys to miss this or not have a good connection.

Are you sure you have a good battery or are you using a booster when you attempt to start it to ensure you have proper voltage??? I have seen cars crank but have a dead cell and there is not proper voltage under cranking load to allow the ECU to run the engine.
