Car will NOT do a burn out. Something limiting my setup
Car made right under 600 whp. Procharged LS1. The car runs awesome, I have had zero issues with it since having it tuned. I could never do a 1-3 gear pull because it would boil the tires, so I never tried power braking and launching the car.
Well, fast forward to last Friday. I decided to take the car to the track and purchased some MT ET STREETS. I pulled into the pits, through the water box and pressed the brake and give it throttle and NOTHING. It just sits sputters. I pulled off the track and tried it on a side street 5-6 times with the same results every time. If the car is already rolling and I stab the throttle it launches hard and revs with no problems. If I am at a stop and hold the brake in and mash the throttle this happens. I've checked through my tune for anything to do with torque management and it's all disabled. Maybe someone here knows what's going on? Talk about embarrassing!
Sounds like you have really good rear brakes. Hook up a line lock so the front brakes are engaged during the burnout, not the rears. Or do a rolling burnout like some of the manual trans guys.
Did you ever resolve this? I've got a similar issue. I've found that keeping the tcc switch pressed on the brake pedal allows me to rev up, with my foot on the brake.
Sounds like Brake Torque Management(BTM) has not been disabled in the tune. Don't think HPT has these tables for the older OSs, but EFILive does. BTM will limit throttle opening on ETC vehicles or cut cylinders like a 2-step on cable throttle vehicles, which is what is heard in the video. Here's a screenshot from EFILive and one from HPT.
