98 harness and ecm to 99+ swap.
I knew going in there would be some repinning involved and as I started looking at some other threads it it seemed the repin had less to do with the ecm harness and more to do with the harness that is inside the car under the passenger kick panel.
This is important as my car was 2001 v6 car, when I did the swap i used a stand alone harness for the 98 ecm, I used custom gauges and I also have an external fan relay that reads off its own sending unit for the temp gauge. The only feed my gauges use from the ecm is speed and tach signal.
So in my case what would I need to worry about swapping to a 99+ ecm.
It seems you cant really get a 98ecm new and I have a 99+ that wont cost me a thing but time so I would prefer to use it rather than track down a 98. Plus supposedly the newer ecm's are better anyway though i dont actually know why.
edit NVM: found this when I searched google which is odd that it didnt show up when I searched on here. maybe this will help others who searched and didnt see it.
