Default HP Tuners won't license 99 with 02 OS

I have a 1999 Trans Am that has been broken for 7 yrs. Got it back on the road, and got HP Tuners... I bought two credits, updated the product code.. etc..

Now I get an VIN/OS error. I think the ECU was reflashed to a 2002 ECU 8 or 9 years ago.

I send the tune and some screenshots to HP Tuners, but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone know if there is any way to get my HPT to license my car?

Have somebody change the VIN to a 2002 vehicle to match the current OS. The VIN in the PCM isn't really used for anything in these parts anyways. Hell if you wanted to just meet up with me some night when I'm tuning a vehicle I can just make the change for you real quick.

Thanks Nic!! That will probably be the best solution. Do you know when you will be tuning a car next?

Will changing the VIN in the ECM cause issues with the emissions people?

I e-mailed them too, they need me to send them the info logs from HPT when it's connected to the car. I'll do that as soon as the mechanic is done recharging the AC.... after sitting for 7 yrs, the AC is in need of refrigerant, and no AC in Phoenix SUCKS!
