Default LY6 in 98 z28

Can i run a Generation 4 PCM and LY6 with the stock ls1 engine harness....

i know about knock sensor placement and cam sensor placement. just want to see if u can just run a gen 4 pcm with stick ls1 harness so i dont have to change out the reluctor wheel

You can run it off your ls1 ecu with a converter http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...3#.Vpho6-TSnb1

the point is to run a 58x pcm so it matches the engine. but keep the 24x harness that is in the car currently

Other than a custom harness I don't see how you can do it. Unless you plan on running the VVT why not just run the converter? I'm not 100% sure but I think you are dealing with two different series computers with different connectors so you won't be able to plug you LS1 harness into a 58x ECU.
I know my LY6 e38 ECU looks nothing like the Camaro ECU.

Because many people say the converter is a pos and has left many stranded. I'll just run e38 ecu and harness that matches. Want to avoid $260 for a crap converter if I can
