Is it possible that my AFR is so whack now that I'm detonating up top 5500-6000 rpm?

I was tuned for all my bolt ons and the only thing I changed was the ls6 intake... Ran fine I though but in the hot day it pings slightly up top. I'm bringing it back to the tuner ASAP and not ******* it.. I was just wonder if this something that's happen to anyone else a few of my friends think it's odd that it would ping after that
