1998 VS 2000 Computer I have a 1998 Z28 and i know its a one year only computer for the camaros. I have found a 2000 Model wiring harness and computer from another camaro. I have heard that the tuning on the 1998 computers can be a bit troublesome. What i was wondering is how much of a "plug and play" is it to switch over to the 2000 computer and harness? I have a HP tuners already so if i need to do any tuning on the 2000 computer i can. Thanks in advance.
Tuning the 98 PCM is exactly the same as a 99+, it is slower for datalogging and afew tables missing but not a big issue.
Unless you plan to go above 15 psi of boost, just keep the 98 PCM and find a good tuner.
For a N/A engine it makes no big difference. I mean, 99+ PCM is better and faster, but for most cars there's no need to swap it.
