Default A/C problem related to tuning/wiring

On a 2002 Silverado 4.8 with an old sidemount whipple setup, there was never a problem with the A/C. It was tuned with 8.1 marine 42# injectors to delete the whipple computer, and had flexalite fans with their notoriously bad controller. Fast forward a few years to converting to a 2bar sd tune, but keeping the MAF since it wasn't maxed out, and wiring the efans through the pcm. To simplify things, the two fans are just wired as fan1 off/on instead of fan1/fan2. The A/C now cycles on/off in park/neutral, but works perfectly in gear. I will figure this out and post a resolution at some point, but for now I'm a bit confused, because during some RTT idle tuning with HPtuners, I made an idle airflow adjustment and the A/C clutch quit cycling off. I thought I may have been on to something, but the corresponding permanent change in the tune file did not change the problem.

Might look at the stall saver stuff and "unstable idle" load
shedding, which will (has, for me) cut out the A/C at idle
in this sort of unpredictable way.

The eventual answer is probably to get the idle cleaned up
(stability-wise) but in the near term you may need to kill
these "hidden actors" to get to where it's not being made
more unstable by well intentioned crap.

You are probably onto something. Today I disabled zone 2 steady state dynamic calcs in order to reduce the MAF input at idle, and the compressor seemed to cycle less. The reason I did this is that the vehicle has a Granatelli MAF post intercooler, and there is no straight area of pipe to smooth flow coming into it. This made idle tuning the MAF unstable at best. I would normally go full SD, but my dad will never want to go through the time and hassle of nailing down an SD tune for all driving conditions. He was very impatient by the time we finished the A/A FMIC.
