Oil pressure sensor effects
Long story short, I pulled the engine, rebuilt it, and threw it back in but I forgot to replace the oil pressure sensor behind the intake manifold on my LS1. The engine runs, but sometimes it seems like it's not stable. I haven't had it running long only a few minutes total (also my first build ) so idk if this is normal. Could the oil pressure sensor behind the manifold have any unwanted effects? Should I go back in their and replace it? Any advice would be helpful. The oil pressure gauge on the dash is pinned to maximum so idk what the PCM is doing
On PCMs where the sensor is wired to them and the oil pressure can be scanned, the PCM doesn't do anything with it, you can unplug it, delete it or whatever and it will run the same.
However, since you rebuilt the engine I'd make sure the pressure is correct using a mechanical gauge or fixing the stock one.
