ECM wiring question
By crank signal, do you mean crank position sensor? The crank sensor goes to the ECU, and should never go through a fuse panel.
The ECU doesn't need to see the power going to the starter.
If you plan to use the stock starter circuit you don't need to wire anything to the starter enable signal of the PCM. You simply hook the purple wire from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. When you crank the engine the PCM will not know but the engine will start just fine.
If the fuse box you have has a starter relay just ignore it, it's there for the newer harnesses that have a starter relay enabled by the PCM. The 2001 PCM doesn't have this option so just wire it directly. If you have a park/neutral switch it's a good idea to use it also.
I attached the starter wiring diagram for the 2001 truck.
