LS1A – FlashScan V2 only standalone option?
Will FlashScan V2 work as a truly standalone scan/logging/tuning option? I understand detailed analysis and file tweeks would occur at my desktop.
I am under the impression the HPTuners VCM Suite Pro interface will log, but still requires a PC at the vehicle. Is this correct?
Essentially, I want to determine what my options are if I am not willing to purchase a laptop. Thanks.
While a V2 will do what your wanting it would make for a slow process tuning your car. You can buy a laptop for under $300 that will work for tuning.
Have driven the vehicle relatively little after H/C/I etc ~9 years ago and am still operating on a mail-order tune tweaked at that time by a very knowledgeable member here. He was kind enough to do a couple brief street logging/tweaking sessions, but I suspect there is room for improvement. I have low load bucking under ~1500rpm in 1st and 2nd. Stalling occurs at low ECT with AC on (start-up). Also, oil at first change after putting my car back together this summer seemed gassy to me. My limited use of this vehicle includes very short drives and I wonder if that is a contributor. Still, wondering about AFR and trims. Need to verify no exhaust leaks around or upstream of O2’s.
Very slowly preparing to put the car up for sale. Trying to decide whether to put time and money into these things or try to sell as is. If I address these things myself, realistically could take me a year or more as I am super slow getting things done on this car and would require considerable education. Could pursue tuning at a shop, but frankly I am a terrible customer and do not like inflicting myself on service providers. I am quite critical and suspect I would be disappointed with most shop’s results.
