no joy. back where i started. i can command a lock up but no lock up otherwise.

i guess my next step is flash the tune from the other, non-turbo, 5.3/4l80e truck and see if it'll lock that converter.

or I could just wire a switch to throw pin S to ground and be done with it! but nooo i gotta try and make it all work correctly

Are you logging TCC mode? What does the scanner show for TCC Mode when the parameters are being met where lockup should occur?

I am not, and that is one of the reasons I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

I can add TCC Mode as a channel, but I can't seem to find it in gauges. Is there another place I can log it?

or can I just view it in the channels "value" ?

finally a dry day to take the turbo truck out.

i was logging the TCC mode and it never changed from "off"

could there be a DTC I accidentally disabled to cause that?

rigged up a switch to ground trans pin S, works great. not sure what I goofed up in the tune to cause this, but it's not a daily driver so no biggie.

if I ever figure it out i'll dig this thread up and post for posterity, lol

A long shot: set the 4th TCC Apply curve a few mph higher than the 3rd TCC Apply curve.

Another long shot: set TCC Release vs Speed to 100% in all cells.

There is a pid which shows the reason why TCC is unlocked.

Set your TCC Release TPS speed table back to stock.

well the drag radials are fun, but they didn't help the TCC lock

not real sure what my next step is.

my logic is

if I can command it locked my wiring ought to be good and i can eliminate that as the issue.

so cross wiring issues off.
cross mechanical issues off

that leaves me thinking it's the tune (or possibly the PCM itself)

so to eliminate the possibility it's the PCM i will flash it with my daily driver's tune (same base OS, 5.3/4l80e) and see if it locks the TCC

at that point it's got to be an issue with the tune or trans segment.

Bumping this Im having same issue. Checking if anyone had this issue and solved the problem. Only thing maybe different is mine locked up briefly by itself without command on a handful of occasions.
