Default Need some help on crank sensor issue

I have a 2007 Saab 97x in the shop the ECU reads as a 5.3, and I seeing has 799 heads in it. When it's running it seems to run good except for a crank position sensor code, and it shifts very hard in every gear.

To to start the truck it has to turn over about 10-15 revolutions each and every time it's started.

vey unknown history except that motor was recently rebuilt by multiple shops. Crank position sensor and wiring has been replaced at another shop to try to resolve. Now it sits in my shop,

the flash I read showed it should be a 58x reluctor, could this be a symptom of a 24x reluctor being In the motor? Or would it never start at all?

Default CS color ?

The 24xe uses a black sensor.
The 58x uses a gray sensor.

My guess is a fuel pump "purge" requirement.
Does the pump make a lot of noise ?

The ability to inspect the TW is easy, remove it from the block, borrow a mirror from a pretty girl.
