LS3 ECU can data ls3 swap in chevelle. want to use the autometer data logger dash. can receive can data. does the e38 ecu send can data or have extra serial data outs? looking at pin outs and see different things.

E38 and CAN data The E38 (and the E67) have CAN but careful with early vehicle software and ECU's as nothing or virtually nothing is transmitted on the CAN bus in the early vehicles. It was primarily just used for reprogramming and diagnostic commands in these early vehicles. Later E38 and E67 implementations are constantly broadcasting most of the ECM variables you would likely be interested in.
If the Autometer display gets the data via diagnostic tool style packet requests then it should be ok with any software but if they are just on the CAN bus looking for existing data (passively) you will need to make sure you don't have an early ECU/software set.
