Connection problem to 02 Camaro with HPtuners

I have recently installed a 416 into my 02 Camaro.

I have previously been able to scan and pull the tune from the car.

However, when I tried to flash a new tune into the car and was connect first through the scanner the attached error has occurred

In addition, the fuel pump does not turn on and there is no indication of fuel level.

So far I have tried the following troubleshooting:

Checked all of the fuses and relays (included the ones inside the engine bay).

Used a handheld OBDII scanner to successfully read any codes (none recorded).

Read another vehicle with the same laptop and MPVI with success.

Power is going to the fuel pump plug (large grey wire).

Appreciate any help or further trouble shooting advice.

Looks to me that the pcm isnt communicating with hpt. But you said you pulled codes with a code reader? To my knowledge if the code reader communicates hpt should too.

1 other thing, make sure the scanner isnt connected while your using the editor. Idk exactly what it will do but id guess pop up no communication. You must stop scanning, disconnect from the vehicle with the button at the top, then go to the editor. If thats fine id try the code reader again and see if it will show you any data.

Quick update, with my handheld diagnosis unit the fuel pump immediately kicked on and I was even able to get the motor to fire.

However, when I still got the same error when I tried to connect with HPtuners.

Could this be a ground issue that is bypassed by a handheld ?

You my friend have something crazy going on that i cant wrap my head around from here. Maybe some1 else will chime in and we can get this straightened out. In the mean time id go back over all my connections and grounds etc.
