Crankshaft Position Sensor
When I took it out for a drive this morning, first thing I noticed was that the tach wasn't moving and the check engine light was on. Plugged in my scantool and it was a PO335. Erased the code, everything was fine (Tach was working, no issues with the car, etc.)
Took it for a short but spirited drive, brought it back and as I was pulling it back into the driveway the SES light came back on. This time for o2 sensor issues, but there is a pending code for the CPS as well.
I do remember checking the reluctor wheel when I was reassembling the motor, and everything there seemed fine (no bent teeth, wheel wasn't bent, etc.)
For those that have run into issues with the CPS, what's the best place to start troubleshooting? Just replace it and see what happens or are there other options to consider?
Edit: One issue I've had with the car since getting it running has been that if I step on the clutch and let off the gas and let RPMs drop to idle, the car will die almost immediately. Could this be related to the sensor being bad? I had assumed it was just a tune issue but now..
