There is no Lterm learn once the MAF is disconnected, just the LTerms get applied as they have been stored up to the point that the PCM was disconnected.

If your LTerms are awful when you disconnect the MAF they will remain 'awful'.

After doing some thinking about this comment last night and taking into consideration gameover is an expert in this dept. I have come to the conclusion that LTFT's can be applied to the ve table. If the PCM is trying to maintain a 14.7:1 ratio that mean to me there is a certain amount of gas that needs to be shot to acheive this. If you have x amount of grams of air, you need x amount of gas entering the cylinder to acheive 14:1. The LTFTs show you how much you are off by based on the MAF, the o2s and all the other airmass algortihms used in calculating this. The IFR table to me is jsut like the maf table. If they are stock why mess with them. Since the ve table isnt a VE table but an airmass table, I think I am gonna use the LTFTs on the ve table and see what effects it has on the car.

Thanks! I was already Open Loop when I chucked the MAF (experimentally of course _ I'm keeping my MAF ). You are the MAN!!

Another believer. I am working on it too. Let us know how it works for you. This could end up providing a much more clean tune, because modifying your IFR, etc still leaves huge variances between LTRIMs in the RPM range. It looks like modifying the VE table is a way to iron those out.

Will do I am making changes now as we speak. I used a ve table that was calculated using ChrisB's log file analyser to get me in the ball park. Now I will apply the LTFT's to the ve table using the histogram table via HPTuners scanner

My fuel trims are getting there. I have to make multiple passes because this table seems to move slow as far as the trims are concered. Car seems to be picking up power and is running smoother and seems more responsive

if you reset your Fuel trims after making a VE change shouldnt the change be instant? A while back I had -10 Ltrims and attempted to scale the appropriate VE table cells by about 75% then reset Fuel Trims and it went back to -10 at idle again again.

do you have to have ls1 edit to use this file? It is asking for a VE dump table and wont let me manually input my VE numbers.

i know how to input the log, but the VE and IFR tables i need to input and it wont let me manually, it wants .xml files.

You load your log files and click on ve calculation and that should be all there is to it. The program takes the maf, g/cl and a few other parameters and calculates the ve tables for you.

doesnt seem to work for me. when i click load VE table, it opened a box asking for the files location. I have HP tuners, so it is just for LS1edit then eh?

you have to input the ve tables that it creates by hand. The automation only works with edit

I do all my VE changes by hand. HPTuners is awesome because they convert the VE table to a real useable number you can apply the LTRIMs to. I put my IFR back with part of my new VE table and the car runs better than before (or so it seems). I just need to drive a little while before I start adjusting based on LTRIMs.
