Default Temp sensor

Replaced my temp switch today bc the gauge was reading all the way to the right.

Well now the new one fixed that and started reporting a temp however its says the car is over heating within 2-5 mins of after starting up. The car clearly isn't running hot.

the speedo and tach are reading incorrectly too.

I tried pulling the PCM fuse and the battery to see if it would reset things but didn't help.

any ideas?

Maybe it really is running hot??? Are you certain the water pump is moving water and that the thermostat is open? Can you look into the radiator cap opening to see that water is actually moving? It could also be air stuck in the water jacket of the engine.

I can grab both hoses and open the radiator cap after the car has run for 5 mins. Temp gauge pegs out but the car isnt even close to being hot.

It has a air bubble trapped in it. It is superheating that air, and giving a false reading. Put it on a big hill and park it. Start it, run it, and shut it off 3 or 4 times and it will probably burp it. Sometimes thay are a pain in the @ss to get out depending on what its in.
