Default What could it be?

so a few weeks ago I got heads, intake, and upgraded injectors installed on my car. Now I’m having this problem where if the car is already warmed a little and sits outside for like 20 minutes and I go to start it again it’ll start up then die right away then when I try turning it on again it’ll take awhile to turn over then it’ll run fine. Anyone know what it could be and if I should be worried about it?

Needs to be tuned as a result of the heads,intake and injector changes.

Sounds a lot like what happens when my injectors develop a leak and need cleaning. I assume it's dribbled gas in to the intake. A swap with freshly cleaned injectors always fixes it right up. YMMV...

Also might be worth seeing if any heat shields were removed and not replaced and fuel line routing. If the fuel rails get hot enough the fuel will vapor lock the system. IF this is the case you can most likely have your tuner set your cooling fan to run for a few extra minutes after shutoff.

Could be a variety of issues. Best bet would be to log the car to see where it's at currently tune wise.

How can you vapor lock the pressure side of a fuel system?

You may need to look up what vapor lock is


The leaking injector is something to look into

If it is a leaking injector a backfire can blow the manifold apart or worse (fire). If so, this something to you want fix asap.

Unless you also swapped in a fairly large cam, then you weren't maxing out the stock injectors. Might consider switching back.

I don’t think it’s any injectors leaking I checked them all and they all look fine and there’s no gas around them. It’s so weird it doesn’t even do it all the time. It’s only when I drive the car and it sits outside when it’s cold for like 10-15 min and I start the car again it does it but it doesn’t always do it
