Default 6L80E tuning guide

A very brief 6l80e tuning tutorial. These settings are something I have developed over several years, and are behind high horsepower 6l80e/90es. On the video I FORGOT TO MENTION, AFTER DOING THE PRESSURE CHANGES and once the tune is flashed, open the scanner and start scanning with KOEO (key on, engine off) and go to the VCM controls and special function tab, you have to click transmission reset then preset to make it go directly to your changes made. English is not my native tongue. lol

That buddy is me - so I'm looking forward to running through this!

I've just got a stock 4.8 and 6L90e trying to make a nice daily driver in an old F150. I'd be lucky to be making 300 at the crank. I've just got lots of issues with surging when I'm stopped in D or R. But the trans does seem to shift at strange times and is reluctant to downshift at part throttle. I'm guessing this is mostly due to the 2.93 gears in the truck, vs the 3.55 that was in the van it came out of.

absolutely, you have to calibrate the tables to adjust for your style of driving using the BC calculator. Strange that you are having surging issues with a stock 4.8, mind sharing the file ?

Here's the latest ones. Thanks for taking a look, I know just enough to be dangerous. So far I've tried to correct for the gearing difference by changing the shift speeds, and making all the tables use the same speeds.
I'm not really sure if the surge is because of the trans, or in the engine tune itself. I found a pretty good gen4 idle tuning guide (can't remember if it was here or hpt forum) that I've been intending to try out, but haven't had the time to yet.
Like you said, it seems strange that with a totally stock engine and trans, that it's got all these driveability issues. I'm assuming I've either derped some setting, or something is wrong that I haven't figured out yet.

Ignore the WB on the log, my sensor died and I haven't got a replacement yet.

Thanks,
-Matt

Seems you have a vacuum leak, just idling your timing is negative due an excess of air accelerating the engine, then the sudden swing in AFR will make the engine hunt

whelp, I humbly thank you for taking a look and helping this clueless person out.. If I'd had a carb I would have been searching for a vacuum leak first thing - but obviously I get spun out thinking it's in the tune on an EFI engine. I'll quit hijacking this thread now..

where on earth did you get the calculator spread sheet? that is brilliant!!

what are your thoughts in regards to shift overlap when you modify the oncoming pressure offsets but leave the off going values as factory?

Sure wish this was out last year! I spent a week tweaking a 6l80 tune for a friend! So much more to them than a 4l60 or 4l80e.Great work!
